Morning all…

I am testing a new email grouping. So please respond so I can make sure you are on the list.

I want to thank everyone for your hard work during this transition. You are all doing a great job…Just a few things to touch base about.

Steve came to me this morning with some concerns because he has noticed an uptick in graphic corrections in AER manuscripts. Since I have seen every manuscript cross my desk in the last month I too notice we all need to be more careful. I am working on an AEJ Policy that is at green dot stage and 10 of the 15 figures have type corrections. A lot of the mistakes appear to be when legends are copy and pasted. The legend order doesn’t match the lines, etc. Or point size and line width are not consistent within the same figure. Please let’s all try and be more careful. I know I am guilty of just placing the figures and not paying too much attention to them because I didn’t create them. So I will be double checking from now on. Maybe the proofers can give them a double look too. We all need to sharpen our eyes for detail. I would rather it took a little longer while working on the first pass of the manuscript then to have a ton of corrections down the road.

On that note - We are still on the search for a typesetter. I say that because in the ad I keep saying they need “a keen eye for detail." I am excited to say that since putting the ad on Indeed I have received some great resumes. Interviews are next Wednesday so hopefully a new person will be joining our team in September. Which is great because that is when we start to get busy…Oh you thought you have been busy? HAHA!….

Oh and if anyone is looking for an Uber driver, Landscaper, electrician, Starbucks barista, someone who plays well with others, works with real world clients, manages a gift shop at the William Penn, or is a “volenteer” (yes that is how they spelled it) I have some resumes for you!

I appreciate each and everyone of you and I hope you are happy on our #TeamPrepress. One word of advice, if you ever have need to put a resume together -have someone PROOFREAD IT before you send it. Just saying.

Cathy
