When it comes to numbers, can you have the proofers leave the author’s expressions as-is. April authors have noticed (and I’ve noticed too), a greater abundance changes from their originals (one and two becoming 1 and 2, or vice versa). Almost all can be traced back to the first proofing. Basically, whether a number is expressed numerically or verbally, is contingent on how it’s being used. This is not a HUGE deal (we don’t need to find and redo mss that have been finished), but down the road it will save us time if we leave the author’s approach as-is. They usually have it together in this regard.
