[Prepress] Graphic proofing

Good morning

I noticed that Michelle has been marking more comments on top level PDFs about graphics. I realize the new paperless workflow can be a challenge when working/proofing these. If we all can be a little more careful when creating, checking, placing, and proofing it may cut down on so many corrections at editing stage.

Here are some of her comments:

Prepress, this figure was not set as the original was. See individual notes for changes. The blue dashed lines are not suppose to be the same, yet they were set the same. Seems proofreading should have caught this.

This comment was made about a table:

Add vertical lines back in, as in original. This seems like something proofreading should have caught.

I am going to talk to her about. We don’t usually put vertical rules in tables. So I don’t feel prepress did anything wrong in this situation.

All in all I truly feel we are doing outstanding work, however when a managing editor brings something to my attention I have to pass it along.

Thanks

Cathy
